Overview & Highlights

Nestled in the heart of Center Point, Texas, Zanzenberg Tavern offers an exceptional dining experience that effortlessly blends rustic charm with culinary finesse. This restaurant specializes in a vibrant array of dishes inspired by heritage and locally sourced ingredients, delivering flavors that are both bold and comforting. From the very first bite, you’re transported to a world where traditional Texan fare meets sophisticated technique.

Begin your meal with irresistible appetizers such as the Heritage Pork Tostadas, featuring beer-braised heritage pork layered over frijoles negros, fire roasted peppers, pickled red onion, and a smooth cilantro crema atop a crispy tostada. The Cowboy Candy—candied jalapenos, house pickles, tamari onion jam served with Joju Bakery crackers and cream cheese—offers a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and smoky notes. For something truly indulgent, the Queso Flameado Oaxaca is a must-try, melting into a rich, creamy delight that pairs beautifully with the jovial ambiance.

The menu shines with premium, thoughtfully crafted entrées like the Wagyu Poblano Bacon Cheeseburger. This burger is a masterclass in flavor layering — fire-roasted poblano peppers, sharp cheddar, and applewood bacon atop a juicy Peeler Farms Wagyu patty, all embraced by a soft Joju bakery bun. Equally impressive are the empanadas, with the Wagyu Short Rib Empanada featuring beer-braised short ribs wrapped in a perfectly crisp Oaxacan cheese-filled pastry, accompanied by a fresh artisan salad and bright cilantro crema. Each bite showcases the culinary team’s impeccable attention to detail and dedication to quality.

The atmosphere at Zanzenberg Tavern is as rich as its menu. Situated in a charming historic building, the tavern boasts a quaint yet lively ambiance with inviting patio seating surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens—ideal for a relaxing dinner under the stars or a cheerful weekend brunch. Guests consistently note the warm, attentive service and the well-curated cocktail menu, with bartender Will crafting cocktails that are as inventive as they are delightful.

Repeat visitors, like Lauren Brasher, rave about returning for consecutive nights thanks to dishes that never fail to impress, while guests like Paige Losoya appreciate the harmony of exquisite food, serene garden views, and impeccable service that make every visit memorable. With dishes that excite the palate and an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and welcoming, Zanzenberg Tavern truly stands out as a culinary gem in this charming Texas town.

Whether you’re a local seeking your next favorite spot or a traveler in search of authentic Texan cuisine elevated by creative twists, Zanzenberg Tavern promises a dining experience that resonates long after the last course is finished. Don’t forget to save room for dessert—the flourless chocolate cake is decadently rich yet airy, and the carefully selected wine pairings make each meal a celebration of flavor and hospitality.

My partner and I were in the area for a quick vacation and we stumbled upon the Zanzenberg Tavern. It was so good, we ended up going there two nights in a row! The appetizers are amazing and the entrees are simply delicious. We had the flour less chocolate cake which was insanely good, rich but not too heavy. And dont pass on the cocktails! The bartender Will makes excellent drinks and is very knowledgeable.

Located in an Historic building in downtown Center Point, Texas this restaurant and bar offers everything you want for a memorable dining experience. The service and the food was spot on, and the drinks from the bar were crafted with care. The wait staff and the kitchen staff followed up on every step in the service.

This was the best food I have had out in a long time! The best appetizer (buurata and procuito), best entrees (beef bourginone and salmon), and dessert (sticky toffee date cake)! ALL deliicious! The restaurant is quaint and the gardens are beautiful! The service was amazing! We appreciated that they allowed us to bring our own wine, but thought the corkage fee was high.

We had a wonderful Friday night dinner on the patio surrounded by their beautiful garden. We started with wine and I was so excited to see a Chablis white wine on the menu. Our server suggested several delicious appetizers. Our main course included venison and salmon. We ended with dessert. We enjoyed meeting the owners/chefs. Zanzenburg Tavern is a gem. The food was exceptional, the service outstanding and the ambiance made it a perfect evening. We will be back!

Like your in Paris ! Excellent brunch with the highest quality ingredients. The back gardens are beautiful. What a gem in a little Texas town.

Beautiful night on the patio at Zanzenberg Tavern. Gumbo, duck salad and stuffed poblano were so tasty. Great Manhattans and beer and wine. Give it a try! You'll be pleased.
